es Sage,” Cash said when she answered the phone for her friend. That was Sage’s third time calling and she was getting on her nerves.

“What is your fat ass doing now?” Sage asked her.

“The same thing I was doing when you called twenty minutes ago. I’m sitting my fat ass in the bed, eating ice cream, and watching Fatal Attraction ,” Cash replied.

“I can’t believe how boring you are now. Tez got you scared to even breath wrong.”

“Bitch, you can miss me with all that reverse psychology shit. Your man is there, so you don’t need me.” “Yes, I do. The twins are there too. Jayce is gonna be all over the place with them. It’ll be just like I’m there by myself.”

It was the day of Tez’s grand opening at his new location and Sage was dying to get over there. She was finally ready to get her belly piercing, but Cash couldn’t go with her. Tez had already made it clear that he wanted her to stay home, and she wasn’t about to do against his wishes. Their relationship had been better than ever and she wanted it to stay that way. Cash wasn’t trying to lose her man behind the stupid shit that she kept doing. She felt like she wanted to die when he broke up with her that last time and that was only for a few minutes. She couldn’t take it if they broke up for good.

“I’m sorry Sage, but I can’t go. Montez said that too many people are gonna be there. You already know how he is.”

“Let me ask him again. I just want you to come with me to get my piercing and then we’ll leave,” Sage promised.

“I thought you and Camia were going together. Jock is supposed to be doing her a tattoo.”

“She’s not going. She said that Addison is not feeling good and she don’t want to leave her with nobody.”

“Well, it’s not looking good for you, boo. You don’t have to get your piercing today. Wait until another time.”

“Bye Cashmere, with your scary ass!” Sage yelled before hanging up on her.

Cash didn’t care if she was mad or not. She was not about to risk having it out with Montez, just to please Sage. It wasn’t even worth it. Cash picked her phone up again and decided to call her sister. She knew that Addison was sick, but she was feeling better when she and Camia came over the day before. Ace and Casey came over too, but Tez and his brother-in-law stayed outside and talked most of the time. Cash assumed they were discussing Bria, but she never did ask. She couldn’t believe that her sister’s boyfriend was Bria’s husband. Ace was so cool and down to earth. It didn’t seem like he and Bria would have anything in common.

“Hey sis,” Camia said when she answered the phone.

“Hey girl. I’m just calling to check on my baby. I thought she was feeling better yesterday when y’all came over here.
